The January 6th Committee is postponing its next hearing because of Hurricane Ian, which is expected to hit Florida on Wednesday, September 28th. “In light of Hurricane Ian bearing down on parts of Florida, we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s proceedings,” the committee’s chairman, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.), and vice chair, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), wrote in a joint statement. “We’re praying for the safety of all those in the storm’s path.”
Thompson and Cheney’s statement noted: “The Select Committee’s investigation goes forward and we will soon announce a date for the postponed proceedings.”
The hearing is expected to be the last public event before the committee releases its final report.
