Updated: Mar 20, 2023

Albuquerque Cosper Head pleaded guilty to assaulting Capitol police officer, Michael Fanone. Head was sentenced to 90 months in prison, just short of the 96 month sentence requested by prosecutors.

Head's sentence is one of the most severe penalties handed down so far in relation to the January 6th attack.

The Crime

On January 6th, 2021, Head grabbed Officer Fanone by the neck before telling the crowd "I got one!". He then dragged Fanone into the angry mob of rioters outside the Capitol, where he was beaten, kicked, and attacked with a stun gun.
